TENUI RABBIT NUISANCE COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the above committee was held at Tenia on Saturday last, Present—Messrs Mackay (chairman), H. Elder, J, Williams, and J. Langdon. The name of Mr J. Maunsell was added to the Committee. A number of letters were read from landholders in the Middle Island relative to the use and effect of ferrets in reducing the rabbit pest.

Information was received that Mr Riche, of Otago, had succeeded in importing the stoat and weasel. The Chairman stated that Mr Inspector Drumraond had informed him that tho Government were prepared to hand over the ferrets in the depot at Masterton to a company if formed, provided the company would retain a percentage of young ones, It was resolved to call a public meeting on Saturday,' December 29th, and place the information received before it.
