Pay ion & Co. ... 217 0 Main road ... ... 77 9 0 Clerk and petty cash 12 4 5 Tenders were received for formation and metalling on Arnold's Line, 17 chains and 6 chains Seih Hart, culvert £4, 23 chains at £4 9s fid per clntn; Rohins'm & Morgan, 23 chains, at £iS loa; H, Burgess, 17 chains at £2l9i 6d, 6 chains at £3; J. Dash, culvert £4,6 chains at £2 9s; A. Dash, 17 chains, at £215 (accepted); 6. Hall, 23 chains at £2 5s (withdrawn). The Warden of No 5 Ward was,authorised to nay the balance of contract on the Hinau Gully Line when the account was rendered and the wurk passed. The Warden of No 2 Ward was also authorised to spend £2 mi Skey's line . . The Warden of No 1 Ward was authorised to repair two culverts, clear ditch, and remove two gates.erected across the East Tarn«ihi mad. The Warden of No 7 Ward was authorised to complete culverts and approaches on Cemetery Line. The War den of No 4 Ward was authorised to employ labor to remove stumps on Olli ver's L'ie.
Tenders were ordered to be invited fur the following : —ls chains tabling formation and culvert Perry's Line; 30 cliai lis metalliug on Ollivier's Line. CO3HBSPONDESCE. : . From J. Gaulton re clearing Robinson's Line. jfroin 6, Bowles re repair of culvert in front of his shop -Mr' Ha'gli, the land-, lord, arranged to cover the drain referred to- , From Mr Chew, requesting compensalioii to amouiit of £36 for repairs made by him on Arnold's line,-The Board agreed to spend £3o' on Arnold's Line during their term of office. From Robert Robinson requesting that a line of road to the railway siding be laid off.—Engineer had been insiructed-to.lay off the line. Fr<m> the German Consul on behalf of ■.Mrs Leppien a3 101 l gate lessee, also Messrs Hii'gli and Wood offering to be sureties.—The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt, and stc.le the board would accept LSO for the toll-gate until the railway was opened to Carterton. DEPUTATIONS. Mr Chew attended, to enforce his request, re compensation. Mr Sefch Hart attended to explain unsound condition of bridges on Arnold's line, and to request. Ilmta road be laid off between sect ions 243-44 and-242 to the railway plat-form, Mr B. P.
