We have been requested to explain that though the Masterton-Opaki Jockey Club' does not disqualify Murtagh from running on its course, it is of opinion that his disqualification by the Wairarapa Jockey Club was deserved. The decision of the former Club is in favor of Murtagh, simply because there is no racing rule uudei which it can take action.

A meeting of members of the Master* ton Horticultural and Industrial Society was held at the Council Chambers kt evening, Mr Everett, the President, beinn. in the chair. Arrangements were made for the services of judges at the coming show. It was decided that on the m .rning ef the Bhow the President should call, the committee roll, when every member would be expected to be in attendance'. The President and Messrs Gardner arid Parsons were appointed as a staging committee. The President and Messrs Vile and Payton were appointed as a sub-com-mittee to arrange tor a luncheon in connection with the show. Other necessary arrangements were made which may be calculated to make the show efficient ahd attractive.
