MELBOURNE, April 8. The Victorian State elections are being held to-morrow. Seven candidates have been returned unopposed, and in another electorate a candidate had a walkover, (he opponent dropping out.

For the remaining fifty-seven seats there are 171 candidates, composed of nationalist, labour, country, libe-

ral and country progressive parties, and a number of independents. The poll is expected to be heavy, as the Compulsory Voting Bill will be in operation.
