LONDON, April 8

For the purpose of more closely studying the biological reasons for the ebullition of life causing the Great Barrier Reef, Dr F. A. Potts, lecturer on zoology at Cambridge University, is endeavouring to form an expedition of scientists. Personally, he hopes to go to Australia at the end of June, and lii-s companions will leave a fortnight, later.

The personnel of the expedition has not yet been decided, but Dr. Potto hopes to get thfe services of all the foremost men, some of whom "iay have difficulty in getting leave. Dr. Potts plans to provide the headquarters at Cairns, with a camp 0,. a nearby island, using a chartered 40-ton motorboat, capable of carrying the trawls and nets.

The expedition will have the advice and help of Professor Richards, of Brisbane, also the practical experience of Dr. Potts, who was a member of the Murray Island Expedition n 1913. A committee, headed by Sir F. Nathan, is assisting the organisation.
