FOR THE BLIND.
PEARSON MEMORIAL FUND.
The local Committee invite subscriptions to the fund for the aid of the Blind. It is proposed by Mr Clutha Mackenzie, M.P., to raise a sum of £45,000 by private subscription. The Government subsidises this by 24s for every £l, making the total amount available for this most deserving object £lOO,OOO. The quota for Waimate district is £3OO. The Committee is anxious to obtain this amount before the end of the month. Donations may be left with Mi’ W. Patterson, treasurer, or at the office of this paper.
