Mr Tudor’s death evoked general expressions of regret. Ho will be given a Star-, funer.-d. Ho was educated at the State schools, Williamstown and Richmond. Ho worked, in England and America at file felt hat trade, 1889-94. He introduced the Trade Union Label into England, and the Felt Hatters’ Society in 1892. He returned to Victoria in 1894, and in 1960 and 1901 was president of ’he Trades Hall Council. He was electee to the Commonwealth Parliament a 1 the initial election, being the chosen of Yarra, and so great was his popularity that he continued to represent that constituency till his death 21 years afterwards, despite repeated strenuous efforts to displace him. H e was Whip for the Watson Government, and became leader of the Labom Par ty m 1916, and retained the position until a few months ago, when he retired on account of failing health. Mr Tudor was Minister of Trade and Customs in the first Fishir Government, 1910-13, and again occupied the same position in the Fisher Administration of 1914-16.]
