RATES OF POSTAGE.

Letters and Letter Cards. Inland.—2d for the first 2oz or fraction thereof, and Id for each additional 2oz or fraction 7 thereof. (Note —“Inland” includes the islands in the Pacific annexed to New Zealand and Western Samoa (Savaii Islands and Upolu Islands)). The United Kingdom and certain countries named in list on pages 10 to 45 of Postal Guide —2d for each oz or fraction thereof. All other places—2Jd for first oz or fraction thereof, and IJd for each succeeding oz or fraction there of (Postal Union rates). Post Cards. Inland —Single, IJd; reply, 3d. AU other places—Single, Id; reply, 2d. Reply Coupons. For prepayment of reply to letter addressed to place abroad, 3d. Inland Packets. (Comprising Commercial Papers for both town and inland delivery, Books and Printed Papers, Pattern and Sample Packets and Unregistered Magazines). For each 4oz or fraction thereof up to 11b, IJd; for each additional lb up to 51b, 2d; packets over 51b in weight must be forwarded by parcel post.

Inland Parcels. 6d for the first lb, 2d for each additional lb or fraction thereof up to 61b; Id for each additional lb or fraction thereof between 61b and 28 lbs. *

On payment of an additional fee of 6d the sender of an inland parcel (except parcels containing fishing rods, golf sticks, etc., exceeding 3ft 6in. in length) may have it marked “Fragile” and forwarded to destination in a hamper. Inland parcels on which this special fee of 6d is not paid will be forwarded to destination in bags.

Insurance of parcels (inland), 3d up to £2. The limits of weight and size for each package shall be as follows:— For places served by rail or steamer: Weight, 281 b; length! 3ft 6in; and length and girth combined 7ft. For places served only by wheeled conveyance: Weight 111 b girth combined 6ft. Newspapers. In the Dominion, Id for ‘each newspaper. For places not served by rail, wheeled conveyance, or steamer: height 51b;'length 2ft; and breadth or depth Ift.
