LATE LOCALS.
The delegates from town and country patriotic ladies' tees met on Saturday to further arrangements in connection with catering and sideshows at the forthcoming A l , and P. Exhibition, Airs Barclay presiding. Reports will he supplied to the public through the press from time to time as the arrangements progress. Next Wednesday evening at the Knox Hall, under the auspices of the Waimate Temperance Reform Union, a meeting will be held to protest against The action of the Cabinet in regard to the National Efficiency Board and its report on the licensing question. The Mayor will preside. All money-order offices will reopen in the evening from 7 p.m, tc 8.30 p.m. on Fridays, 17th, 24th, and 31st August, and Saturdays, 18th and 25th August and Ist September, for the purpose of transacting War Loan business or withdrawals from the Savings-bank tor investment in the This special re-opening is for the convenience of the public who are unable to attend during the ordinary business hours.
