Waihaorunga Notes.
[Own Correspondent.]
The weather has been very changeable here for, two weeks, but looks more settled now. The wind was cold and severe for several days at a time, which had a bad effect during lambing, but it was pleasing to see the losses are not so heavy as might have been expected. The percentage rate will not be quije up to the usual; from present indication the general average will be 85 to 100 per cent. The crops are coming away well, and feed is very plentiful as far at grass goes, all the paddocks looking remarkably well. RAILWAYS.

Splendid crops of oats and wheat are grown here, and more will be grown when the railway gets at a reasonable, reachable distance. As far as the thousand acre business goes, I do not require to argbe this. The many farmers that are holding far leas than a thousand acres are/act sufficient to show that the statement is quite groundless, October 25tb,
