POLLARD’S PICTURES. One of l.lio most widely road books of the last decade was 'William Le Queux’s famous story, “Mo Greater Love.” Tins powerful work, with its tragic note, caused a sensation when first published, the intensely human character of Sadunah, the Salome, dancer, andl the great sacrifice she made to obtain her daughter’s happiness appealed to all hearts, and all classes of society. The ‘‘Eclipse” Company, a.n all British firm, arranged with Lo Qnonx for its adaptation to ciuima purposes, and it was filmed under the direction of the author, and from a scenario made by him from the hook. It is 6000 ft in length, and the following from the Wellington Evening Post speaks for itself;—lt is hut rarely, that a picture play of such merit has been presented. Wo cannot recall anything hotter. A crowded house marked its approval with no uncertain sound, the wonderful acting of tint French tragedienne, Bogina Badet,’..proving a. revelation of the possibilities of the histrionic art as applied before the camera. Tile performance could hardly he improved upon. .The photography of the films clear beyond the ordinary and altogether the picture is a fine advertisement for its makers.” This tragic masterpiece has been secured by Mr. Pollard at considerable expense and will form the. premier attraction of to-night’s all-new programme. It will he supported by a new topical gazette full of newsy items garnered from all parts of the world, and an absorbing one-act play with the strange title of ‘‘The Sort of Girl that came from Heaven,” hj) which the popular artists, Anita'Stewart, and Eerie Williams, ■ are featured.
