Tlio Democratic platform lia s been adopted. It contains a plank condemning vigorously all combinations of individuals of whatever nationality m descent who arc conspiring for the purpose of embarrassing the Government, and who are improperly coercing public representatives in dealing with the foreign power. This is intended as a rebuke to Teutonic propagandists. Other planks declare for the frendom of the seas and the encouragement of American shipping.
Roosevelt’s friend, Perkins, aftei conferring with Republican leaders,- intimated that the Republicans and Pro grossives are going to pull together lo support Judge Hughes.

Tlii‘ St. Louis Democratic platform condemns hyphenated iAmerieans as subversive to .American unity and destructive to the Nation’s welfare, and repudiates their efforts to influence the United States Government. It denounces existing conspiracies, landing the neutprlity platform. The head of the United States must mo its power not only to make itself safe at homo but to secure its just interests throughout tho world by affirming the right of small States to live their own lives and to choose their own sovereignity. ft is believed that the time has arrived for America to join the othei nations to prevent war. It emphasises that it is laid on America to assert the fundamental rights of small States as against mere questions of property. In this respect President Wilson's administration platform it contends has maintained the highest traditions of. the United States. 0 HUMAN AMERICANS. THEIR CHANCE FOR REVENUE.' (Received, 5.5 p.m.. The Cologne Gazette says:—“ The Uorman-'Americans, on whose votes the decision may rest, are on Judge Hughes’s sde, and now have an opportunity of paying back President Wilson’s false and hypocritical neutrality, and his attacks on their American nationality.
