It lias been decided to call up men for the Hth Reinforcements upon a population basis, or namely, the estimated number of military age in the four military distriets of the Dominion as given by the Government Statistical!. The quotas for each military district to be called up to supply, therefore, wifi be; Per cent. Auckland 25 Wellington 32.4 Canterbury ■■■ 24.8 Otago 17.8 The same system will he observeu in the ease of future drafts, pending the eompletition of the results ol the Na tlonal P.egistiH tion. During the past six months the practice has been to call drafts in proportion to the number of registrations in each district. Wellington under this system has done well, having the honour of supplying close upon half the total number of men drafted into camp from the whole of New Zealand during the punt six months. The reglstraion figures for the whole of New Zealand for the week ended Saturday last show the following per eentage;— Auckland 20.10 Wellington 42 - 2 ' Canterbury 10.98 Otago -6‘ SEVENTH REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVE. WELLINGTON, November 33. Cable advice has been received that the Seventh Reinforcements hale arrived safely at their destination. FOR GARRISON DUTY IN SAMOA. MORE MEN WANTED, WELLINGTON, November 23. In order to relieve men in tie. Ramoan Harrison who desire to return to New Zealand, it has been decided to take registrations up to 20 men in each district from those desiring to go on garrison duty there.
