KILLED IX 4. TUXXEL. 'PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT AUCKLAND, June 10. A dismembered body was found on t!i j- railway near the Darnell tunnel and it has been identified as that of a young iiian, Percy Llewellyn Cartwright, lapsing since Friday night, when lie left his brother’s residence to visit a married sister at Parnell.
Deceased probably used the railway line as a short cut. An inquest returned an open verdict.
OLD AGE PENSIONER DEAD,
ASHBURTON, Juno 10.
The body of an old ago pensioner, named John Gubbins, was found in a shed near Westcrfiold yesterday.
Deceased had been a gold digger all his life, and at the inquest to-day the e-, idenes went to show that ho was on his way back to the Otago goldfields lasi month.
Medical evidence gave the cause of death as exhaustion and stated that it occurred fully a fortnight ago.
The Coroner’s verdict was returned accordingly.
