VICTORIA v. KIWI.
'(Ladies.)
This match, played on Cass Square on Saturday, ended in a draw, neither side scoring. The Victoria's opened with an invasion of their opponents' territory and remained there almost the whole of the first spell, the Kiwi backs having .some anxious moments. A couple of easy chances of scoring were missed and solid defence stopped several good attempts. The beginning of the second spell were more even, Kiwis having one very easy chance of scoring but failed to seize it. Near the end of the game the Victoria's again atacked strongly and looked like scoring on several occasions, but the game ended with no score For the Kiwis Misses P. Dowell and C. Breeze
(forwards) and V. Dolph and M. Dowell (backs), and for Victoria Misses Garner and King (forwards) and M. Wilson and E. Breeze (backs) were the best.
Taken altogether the game was very even and very interesting, the spectators at times showing great enthusiasm, particularly on the eastern side of the field. Mr Dykes had charge of the whistle.
