THE RABBIT INDUSTRY.
WELLINGTON, Sept. 3— The rabbit industry during the winter assumed remarkable dimensions. Between six to seven hundred thousand skins were purchased weekly, representing close on£4ooo. As much as 2s lOd per Ib was paid for prime doe skins. The increase is due more to better prices than to an increase of rabbits. It is estimated that trappers earn £1 per day.
