NAPIER, Sept 3.— A half-caste girl named Harriet Sutherland, who was stay with friends an Frasertown, disappeai'ed from there at the beginning of January. Rumours are in circulation among the Maoris that there is something underlying the case. Police enquiries have so far been without result, and with a view of endeavouring to clear the matter up Detective Hill left this morning for Wairoa.
