Soprano Coruafc Solo — M'Alssfcflrs (Wea'poit Citj), 1 ; Neighbour-! (Granity). 2.
Quartettes— Westport City, 80 points, 1 ; dranity, 79 points, 2 ; Hokitika Citizens, 78 points, 3 ; Grey Battalion (77) 4 ; Masterton (76^) 5 ; Nelson Garrison (76) 6 ; Hokitika Volunteers (75) 7 ; Feildinß (74) ; 8 ; Grey Catholic (73) 9 ; Denniston (72) 10.
The Hokitika Volunteer Band's Conductor was absent when the quartette was called on or otherwise they would have been much higher up the list.
Th« Coast boyg are doing well in the competitions, having secured all the prizes so far.
To-morrow the tenor horns, B fiV cornet, and euphonium solo contests take place, and on Friday trombone and buitone solos. Friday evening the teat selection, Saturday the ba<s s aud qirckstep.
There were only four competitors in the eoprano solo contest,
After the Westport boys played the North Island and Nelson competitors d}d not face the judge.
