HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Harbour Board was held at the Board's office last evening. Present— The Chairman (G. Perry, Bsq), Messrs Toomey, Bock and Rose ( Collector of Customs).
Minutes.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Correspondence.
Outward correspondence was read and approved and inward carrespondenco was read and dealt with as follows :—: —
From the General Post Oftice, Wellington, stating that £250 interest was due on the Board's loan and asking that payment be provided for. The Secretary stated that on the 11th inst the total amount of interest due to the Department would be £3,sso.— Received ; consideration held over.
From the County Council, informirg the Board that Mr T. J. M'Guigan had been elected Chairman of that body for the ensuing year. — Received.
From the International Exhibition Committee, a circalar on exhibition affairs. — Received.
The Finance Committee recommended accounts amounting to £99 14s 3d for payment. — -Approved. The Board's funds at the Bank were stated to be in credit to the extent of £200 9s 9d.
The Harbourmaster reported the bar good, the channel running out in a north Westerly direction, the depth of water to-day (Tnesday) at neap tide being ten feet. — Received.
A vote of £10 travelling expenses to the Board's delegate to Wellington was passed. This concluded the business.
