MYLAND' S CIRCUS.
The above clever equestrian entettam« ment opened in a large marquee ou Cass Square last evening, the circus being greeted with a very large audience. The entertainment in point of horsemanship is undoubtedly one of the beat/hows that has visited the Coast for years, and the various feats by the numerous performers elicited rounds cf applause. The six creamy ponies under the management ot Miss Agnes Hyland proved coaclusively the high etite of training to which horses may b 3 brought. They were under peifrct control, and when lying down with the fore and hind legs tied, at the word of command ou9 clever pony untied himself and his comrades. The pony "Paradise" was another well trained animal, showing great cleverness in his barrels rolling act, though the same may be said of all the hoises. "Sovereign," for instance, displayed wonderful intelligence in playing hide-and-seek with the c'owns, finding hidden handkerchiefs, and in playing a game of euchre with a gentleman from the audience. Mr T Hyland in his bounding jockey act showed perfect mastery over his horse, especially when riding blindfolded, and Miss Agues Hyland waß equally clever and graceful in her feats of hormanship. The whole performance was undoubtedly up-to-date and richly earned the enthusiastic ap» plause of the audience accorded to the various performers.
To night an entire change of programmeis announced, when another large audience may be expected.
