THE BANKING COMMITTEE.
[Pee United Press Association.] Wellington, July 31. The Banking Committee resumed at 10.30. The Chairman read a reply from Mr John Murray, Sydney, stating he was writing to the Committee regarding his summons as witness. A motion to again adjourn on account of the no-confidence motion was lost h) five to four, and Mr Booth's examination was continued. He produced the papers a^ked for by the Committee. He declined to produce reports of the officers of the Bank on the position of the Ban x and Globe Assets Company, as they would divulge the accounts of customers of the Bank. He declined to produce at present books, documents, papers, etc., I relating to the above and other matters referred to in the order of reference, and also declined at present to produce particulars of recoveries in respect of the £200,000 contingent liability, being part ' of the estim^d losses of the Bank referred to in the report of the Committee of 1895, page 2. The Premier thought now the Comuiiucee had got tho<e do3uments it should adjourn. He therefore moved the Com . niittee adjourn till Monday at 10.30. ' v This was carried by 6 to 4. The Committee rose at 11.10.
