London, October 27. Mr Wilfred Blunt, charged with presiding at a proclaimed meeting of the English Home Rule Union, has been sentenced to tiro months' imprisonment. Wilfred Blunt, who was sentenced to 2 months imprisonment for taking pare in a proclaimed Home Rule meeting at Woodford, has given notice of appeal, A number of leading colonists, now in LondoD, at the invitation of Sir Saul Samuel to-day inspected the statue of Her Majesty, executed by Boehua, te the order of the Sydney Government. A number of loyal speeches were made on the occasion. Berlin, October 26. The select committee appointed by the Federal Council to consider the proposal of Prince Bismarck that a German Commissioner should be appointed for the Melbourne Exhibition, have approved of the appointment being made. October 27. The Federal Council, to-day, passed a resolution approving of the appointment of a commissioner to represent Germany at the forthcoming Centennial Exhibition at Melbourne. Sofia, October 27. The new Sobranje was opened in state to-day by Prince Ferdinand, who was accorded a great ovation. Paris, October 27. The Chamber Deputies ha 3 appointed a select committee to enquire into the charges made against General Caffarel and M. Daniel Wilson, in connection with the recent War Office scandal. 3
