Melbourne, October 28. It is expected that a special vote will be granted by Parliament to enable Government to entertain visitors attending the Centennial Exhibition next year. The following are the final acceptances for the V.R.C. Derby to bo run to-morrow : — Lara, Australian Peer, Abercorn, Jebusite, Whakawai, Tranter, Pakeba, Niagara and Enfilade. Hobart, October 28. The patients now suffering from small pox are progressing favorably. (Received October 29, 1.40 a.m.) Melbourne, October 28. (10.45 p.m.) The following are the latest betting quotations for the V.E.C. Derby:— Even money on Abercorn, 6 to 1 against Australian Peer, 10 to 1 Pakeha, 10 to 1 Niagara, 12 to 1 Enfilade, 15 to 1 Jebusite.
