SPECIAL MEETING.
The Council then held a special meeting. On the motion of Mr Seddon seconded by Mr M'Whirter, the resolution passed at last meeting re by-law touching licensing vehicles, wa3 confirmed. Mr Seddon then moved and Mr M'Whirter seconded, " That in future all pedlars and hawkers in the county shall pay a fee of £5 per year. — Mr tiirter objected to introducing fresh business at a special meeting. — Mr Grimmond asked the ruling of the chair, whether this new business could be introduced .—The Chair' man thought it could.— Mr Jack said if Mr Seddon's resolution was carried the hawkers could snap their fiDgers at the by-law, — After some further discussion, the Chairman ruled Mr Seddon's motion out of order, as the meeting was called for special business, re licensing vehicles.
