Tenders for the £1,000,000 4 per cent loan for New Zealand were \ opened to-day. The total amount offered was found to be £1,520,000, at prices ranging from the minimum of 98^ to 101. Tenders at ninety-eight and nine sixteenths will receive allotment to the extent of seventy-eight per cent. Tenders above ninety-eight and nine sixteenths will receive in full.

It is uiiderstood that further appli-

cation has been received for a small amount of the unallotted balance of the Victorian Loan.

The EDglisb, Scottish and Australian Bank have declared a dividend of 4^ per cent, for the past half-year, and carried £10,000 to its reserve fund. Capetown, Jan. 10.
