TOTAL LOSS OF THE P. H. HAZELTINE, OFF CAPE HORN.
The ship P. H. Hazeltine, 112 days out from New York, bound for San Francisco, has foundered off Cape Horn, and is a total loss. She was consigned to Messrs Williams Blanchard, and Co., and was loaded with a miscellaneous cargo. The Hazeltine was owned by H. Harriman, her commander, and others, and was built at Belfast, Maine, in 1876. Her dimensions were 233 ft in length, 42ft beam, 25ft in depth of the hold, and she registered 1664 tons. Her crew consisted of captaia, first, second, and third officers, cook, steward, and 14 men. The fate of those on board is not yet known. The cargo -was insured in the following companies :—Transatlantic Insurance Company, 28,000dol ; Swiss Lloyd Marine Insurance Company, 18,000dol ; Union Insurance Company, 15,000dol ; South British Insurance Company, 15,030dol ; New Zealaud Insurance Company, 60,000dol ; State Investment Insurance Company, SOOOdol ; Svea Insurance Company, 3000dol ; Fireman's 2?uncl Insurance Company, 3490d01 ; Commercial Insurance Company, 2809dol ; California Insurance Company, 780dol, making a total Of 97,070d01.
