The Murray left yesterday morning for Greymouth. The Charles Edward is due here to-day. The bar and channel is in excellent condition at present, and the Maori will have no difficulty in reaching the wharf, when she reaches here. She is expected to show up early this morning. The following weather telegram was received from Wellington yesterday afternoon: — " Indications of a falling barometer, and wind any direction between northeast and north and west; Btrong winds and uncertain weather." The steamer Luna left Wellington at 8.30 p.m. on Friday, the Bth. In steaming up the harbor the p.s. Manawatu was waiting evidently for the purpose of having a trial of Bpeed. When the Luna got alongside, both vessels started at full speed, but the Luna passed her rival easily, ureatly to the discomfiture of Captain Harvey, who fondly believed his little 'tin-kettle could lick a late Government yacht. It may be added that not only has there been a change of Ministry, but also a change in the interaals of the Luna, she now having only one boiler, instead of two, as formerly, which makea the whipping of the Manawatu the more disgraceful. The Luna experienced fine S.E. weather from the Heads to Nelson, where She arrived at 10 o'clock on Saturday morning. Kemained till Sunday evening, for the purpose of convoying excursionists to the interprovincial regatta at Wanganui, but so few passengers presented themselves that they were transferred to the Wallace, which steamer was also on the same errand. Left Nelson on Monday afternoon at 3.30; experienced strong southerly wind during the night rounding Cape Farewell, and anived at Westport at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Discharged a general cargo from Wellington, and left agniu at 7.30, arriving at the Greymouth wharf at 6.30 yesterday morning. — Grey Kiver Argus, Feb. 14.
