MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF HOKITIKA. BY-LAW No. 4. A By-Law for Compelling the Removal of Swine from within the Boundaries of the toian of Rohitiha. TTTHEBEAS a nuisance offensive and * injurious to the comfort and health of the inhabitants of the Town of Hokitika is caused by the keeping of living Swine within the said Town, Be it therefore ordered, directed and enacted by the Corporation of the Town of Hokitika, that from |and after the first day of September, 1868, it shall not be lawful for any person to keep any kind of living Swine j within the said Town for a longer period than forty-eight hours unless by special order and permission of the said Corporation, and any person who shall so offend shall forfeit and pay, on conviction, any sum not exceeding five pounds for every such offence.
