New Yokk, July 9. The national day was celebrated as usual. St. John's Episcopal Church in Buffalo, N.Y, was burned on the night of the 4th by the explosion of a sky rocket in the steeple. The new Legislatures of Georgia, Louisana, and South Carolina have completed their organisation. Both Houses of the Louisanian Assembly have ratified the fourteenth amendment of the Georgia Legislative. The Senate had a radical and the House a democrat majority. Charles Francis Adams, late Minister to England, arrived in this city last night by the steamer China. In the House of Representatives on the 7th, Thaddeus Stevens presented additional articles of impeachment against President Johnson, charging him with abuse of the patronage of his office in erecting State Governments in conquered territories, and restoring forfeited property and other crimes. Mr Stevens made a long speech in support of the charges, and then, at his suggestion, they were postponed for two weeks. Mr Williams, of Pennsylvania, also presented additional articles. The new Sammany Hall was dedicated on the 3rd inst., and after the dedicatory services were completed, the Hall thrown open for the reception of the Democrat National Convention. After the appointment of committees to prepare for regular business, the Convention adjourned. Monday 6, 10 o'clock a.m. The candidates spoken of for the Presidency of the Convention are Geo. H. Pendleton, General W. S. Haucoek, Frank Blair, and Chief Justice Salmon, P. Chase, Hendricks, Johns.m, and M'Clellan. Great excitement prevails about proceedings. The case of United States «. Arman Brothers, Builders of Confederate Iron Clads, came on for hearing an July Ist, Berryer opened the case for the United States. The Advocate General will reply on the Bth.
