[BT OvEELASD TELEGBAPH.] San Fkancisoo, July 2. The English war-steamer Chanticleer, being at Mazatlan, the collector was informed that one of the officers was smuggling gold on board. The officer was searched, and gold found on him. The captain went ashore, and announced his intention to bombard the town, to avenge the insult to the flag. Ultimately, he consented merely to blockade the port until the receipt of orders from the admiral. The United States war-steamer Savanna hal gone to protect American interests. The Legislature at Sinalo will repeal the restriction of the exportation of bullion. The war-steamer Juarez, presented to the Mexican Government by the Californian, Oregon, and Mexican Steamship Company, had arrived at Mazatlan. The crops of the country arc a total failure. The U.S. Consul, at Victoria, Vancouver's Island, reports the loss of the American schooner Growler, on rocks at head of Vancouver's Island. Thirteen lives and 35,000 dollars of cargo lost.
