LAND QUESTION.
TO THE EDITOB OF THE WEST COAST TIMES Sib — There was one subject very pertinent to the matter under discussion at the public meeting on the Land Question last week, which I expected some of the speakers would have adverted to — that is — the terms on which the land was sold at the Land Sale on the 23rd day of April last. The upset price for the cleared sections on Gibson's Quay being at the rate of L6O pev acre, Mr Browning, the surveyor, obtaining his improved half-acre section for L3O, without any competition being allowed. I commend these facts to the consideration of the committee appointed to draw up the memorial to the Governor. Requesting your insertion of this in your first issue, I remain, Sir, Yours, &c, Section-holdeb. Hokitika, 28th May, 1868.
