HOKITIKA SAVINGS BANK.
T^he above invaluable institution has how been in existence, for, 'a, period of eleven months, under the able management of Mr Archibald Bonar, N senri ; and how great a success it has been may be judged from the Return of Monthly Balances which we subjoin : — MONTHLY BALAXCES AT THE CBEDIT OF DEPOSITOBS.
Total amount of deposits received up to the end of September; 1867,1-7682 12s 2d. Total amount repaid to depositors to the same date, L 2356 0s Id. Balance of deposits in hand, 30th September, L 5326 12s Id. These figures represent 315 separate accounts opened during the eleven months representing an average of deposit of something over L2O. Of the total number of accounts opened there have been 120 in which the deposits were under L2O, It will be seen that tho monthly balance during the eleven months exhibits a steady progressive increase.
