RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before G. G. FitzGerald, Esq., R.M.) Tuesday, August 20.

TiABCENY. — John Carbarry and Theodore Mowbray, charged with stealing a case containing fifty-two dozen eggs, the property of Mr Gawne, Eevell street, were brought up on remand. Mr Rees, for the prisoners, 'called Mr George Ingles, of the City Theatre, who deposed that the prisoner Mowbray had been in his employ. He had always found him to be industrious and honest. His Worship remarked that the evidence had clearly established the fact that the prisoner Carbarry had stolen the eggs, and that the prisoner Mowbray had participated in the crime by dividing the proceeds of the stolen property. His Worship sentenced them to one month's imprisonment with hard labor.
