Manager pro. tern. — George Royan. * Secretary — George Willis. ' Banker — New South Wales. Solicitors— Messrs Rees and Tyler. Offices, pro. tern- At Messrs Rees and Tyler's, Wharf street. rpHIS Company is formed for the purpose of working fifty acres of auriferous ground held on a twenty- one years lease from the Maori Commissioner. This ground is situated at Woodstock, opposite to the Kanieri, and is in a direct line with the celebrated Golden Lead, running from the Waimea through the Three Mile, Tucker Flat, and the Kanieri. From four or five claims — immediately adjoining the fifty acres belonging to the Company, and altogether containing less tiian half an acre — between two and three thousand ounces of gold have been (taken during the last nine months. The shareholders in one of these claims washed, in a cradle, for a single day.- work, three pounds weight of gold, which ran about seven ounces to the load : the place from which this was taken „is not more than fifty yards distant from the Company's ground. The lead runs direct tlirough the leasehold of the Company for a distance of upwards of seven hundred yards. The lease will be purchased by the Company at -the price of L2OOO, which will be taken in 2000 paid-up shares. The capital of the Company will be L4OOO, in 4000 sTiares of Ll each, to bo paid as follows : — 2s 6d on application, 2s 6d on allotment, and calls of 2s 6d at intervals of at least a month. As the ground can be worked at a cost — for machinery, &c. — of less than LSOO, the pi omoters- think that the 2000 shares which will be thrown into the market will provide ample means for the successful commencement of the undertaking. Every possible convenience is on the spot — fine timber "in millions of feet, a good fall to the Hokitika River, and water power, with a fall of sixty or seventy feet, are at once available. It is probable that worjc will be commenced, and a dividend declared, within a month from- the time that the open shares are taken up. The pre sent working — although so rich — is merely upon a false bottom ; the real bottom, where found, has, all along the lead, yielded much better returns than the layers above it. Applications for shares to be addressed to the Secretary, at the temporary offioe of the Company. 4511
