NEW SOUTH WALES.

We have Sydney papers of tho 25th ult. The " Herald" reports : —

Since our mail summary was published, the import market has been unusually quiet, and no alteration has taken place in quotations, except for breadstuffs, holders af which are asking higher rates, and a further advance may be looked for, as there is little disposition to quit at present prices. Martell's brandy is offering freely, and if there was any demand business could be done at slightly lower figures than have ruled for many months. Several parcels of damaged stout and other goods sold with all faults were quitted to-day at auction, at almost nominal rate* Large invoices of sound goods were offered and passed, without hardly inducing a bid.
