AMUSEMENTS.

The Prince of* Wales Opera House, under the mmngement of its proprietor, Mr James Bartlett, has had a very successful career since its opening. Mr Baitlett has placed on the stag" many of the best and most popular of the dramas ond * comedies oi the British stage, including selections from the works of Shakspere, Bul\ver,Toin Taylor, &c. Amongst the most successful pi iys have been " The Lady of Lyons,'", 44 Katherine and Petruchio," and " The Ticket of Leave Man." In addition to Mr Bartlett himself, who is a most able and versatile aotor, hisVjompany includes 'Mrs Chnrles Poole (an established colonial favorite). Miss Rosa Cooper (rfn actress of distinguished merit, in a -wide range of character), Mrs Crosby (who '"" sustains with great success the role of the late Mrs Glover), Messrs Andrews, Lionel Harding, Streeton, and others who all contribute to the completeness with which plays of the highest class are ptoced upon the stage. We will . only add that the costumes and scenic decorations of the new theatre are perfect, and that in no house in any colony ornt home, have a rapid succession of pieces been ever produced with gre&ter smoothness and effect. With the exception of an ocfasi'onal Bnll, of which that given by the Oddfellows on Thursday night has been the most notable of the month, our amusements have been limited to the theatre, which hns indeed met every want. A grand Ball is to be given at the Prince of Wales by the Freemasons on the 20th prox.,the anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty.
