Proposals For Settling The Railway Strike WELLINGTON, Last Night (P.A.), Railwaymens organisations met the Prime Minister (Mr. Holland) The Minister of Railways (Mr. Goosman) and the Minister of Labour (Mr. Sullivan) this afternoon in company with the acting Leader of the Opposition (Mr. Nash) and Federation of Labour officials. After long discussions some railwaymCn's representatives withdrew, and the remainder, comprising executive officials, discussed proposals for settlement of the strike. These were communicated to executive officers of the A.S.R.S./R.T.A. and the E.F.C.A. These officers have the proposals still under consideration, and will meet again tomorrow' morning. The Prime Minister said tonight that negotiations lasting more than three hours took place at Parliament Buildings. Delegates from the railwaymen’s organisations were then to meet the full conference of their representatives. “The Government and the public await the outcome of these discussions,*' said the Prime Minister.
