Experimental Station Wanted In Wanganui Area By Federated Farmers
A remit from the Mangamahu branch that a back-country larm in the Wanganui district should be set up as an experimental station met with a favourable reception from Federated Farmers Wanganui Provincial Executive yesterdaj. The Mangamahu delegate, Mr R. S. I Lilburn, said a considerable effort had been made some years ago to set up an experimental area, but nothing was done. He said there was plenty of land held by the State Advances Corporation which would be suitable for the purpose. Mr J. C. Gower James said that sugh a scheme would have to be run' on practical lines and would have tc pay for itself.
