The Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Minister of Marketing and Agriculture, Mr S. W. Smith, will visit Wanganui early next year to have dis-i cussions with the Milk Treatment Corporation. Mr. Richard Walters, of Palmerston North, has retired from the lecturing and research staff of Massey Agricultural College after 44 years’ service to agriculture in New Zealand. Mr. D. A. Dale, formerly of Wanganui, has resigned from the position of Dominion secretary of the Boy Scouts’ Assocition to take up a commercial position. He has been secretary for the association for 131 years. Mr D. Kenning, who is a graduate of Duntroon Military College, arrived home from Australia yesterday. A son of Mrs P. Mcßrearty, of Swiss Avenue, he was educated at the Wanganui Technical College. Mr W. J. H. Clark, M.A., chairman of the education committee of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and senior boys’ vocational guidance officer. has been elected to professional membership of the National Vocational Guidance Association of America. Mr J. P. Wells was re-elected chairman of the Wanganui Milk Treatment Corporation’s directorate at yesterday’s meeting. His was the only nomination. He thanked the directors for what they had done during the corporation’s existence. The corporation was fortunate in having all sections of thn trade represented in its directorate. Mr Donald Urquhart, a member of the Wainukurau Post Office staff, has died. Born in Manaia, Taranaki, 66 years ago, Mr Urnuhart was severely wounded in the Somme engagement in 1916. and lost a leg. After being invalided h n me ne joined the staff of the Dannevirke Post Office and Was shortly after transferred to Waipuknrau. He had been there ever since and was for manv years supervisor of the telegraph exchange. Mr R. W. Baunton. M.A.. who has been on the relieving staff of the New Plymouth Boys’ High School f A r several years, has been appointed to a permanent position on the staff as senior social studies master. The vacancy was created as the result o e recent resignations from lhe teaching staff. Mr Bnunton is an old boy of the school. The Air Board announces the appointment of Groun Cantain R W. K Stevens as Minister for Personnel at R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters. Wellington. Groun Captain Stevens arrived in New Zealand early this m A nth to accept a short service commirsion with the Royal Now Zealand Air Force. In March. 1942, he was loaned to th?
