Wanganui Croquet Club Holds Christmas Party

On Saturday aiternoon the Wanganui Croquet Club’s pavilion looked most attractive with Christmas decorations and beautiful regale lilies for the club's Christmas party.

The weather being unfavourable for outdoor activities, the first part of the afternoon was spent in playing card games. A special afternoon tea was enjoyed, followed by an exchange of gifts in which good fellowship and best wishes were extended. The president, Mr D. T. Allen, gave an interesting talk on the English croquet test played in Wellington. He expressed regret at the absence of Mr Mrs McClymont, owing to the former’s present indisposition. Greetings were received from the Gonville Club. Competition and novelties were enjoyed during the remainder of the afternoon, which concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
