Wanganui R.S.A. Bowling Club Visits Waitotara

During the week-end a visit was paid to the Waitotara Bowling Club by four rinks from the Wanganui Returned ervicemen’s Club. Excellent weather was experienced and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. The local players proved too good for the visitors, winning three games to one. Results we r e as follows: C. Cole, Meads, Watson and W. Hurley (Waitotara) beat Matson, Petersen, Holland and Pocock (R.S.A.) 26-14. H. Bradley, W. Roe, Barry and Dobie (Waitotara) lost to Lind, Goss, Thomas and Beauchamp (R.S.A.) 1532. E. Cole, Pokau, McConarchy and Enright (Waitotara) beat Papworth, Freer, Verran and Stewart (R.S.A.) 29-18. O’Connor, Moana, Zimmerman and L. Hurley (Waitotara) beat Connell, O'Reilly, Aitken and Rusden (R.S.A.) 27-16. The president of the Waitotara Club, Mr. W. Hurley, extended a welcome to the visitors prior to the commencement of play and, when the games had been completed, Mr. C. Aitken expressed appreciation on behalf of the R.S.A. players for the hospitality extended by the Waitotara Club. The return visit will be made in February.
