Death Of Pioneer Of Patea District: Mrs M. A. Spooner

Mrs Mary Ann Spooner, who died in Wanganui recently at the residence of her son, was a pioneer of Patea, having resided there all her life Born in Ihp Palea district 7G years ago, Mrs Spooner closely identified herself with many activities. She was a member of the Patea Mothers’ Union and St. George's Church Ladies’ Guild. An honorary vicepresident of the Patea Girl Guides' Association, of which she was a foundation member, Mrs Spooner also served on the committee of the Boy Scouts' Association. The funeral was largely attended. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs Mona McLuskie, of Wellington, and three sons, Messrs W. Spooner (Manaia), F. Spooner (Rata) and G. Spooner (Wanganui).
