Hunterville Has Easy Win Over Porewa Team Porewa, a team which has always been one of the top teams in the Rangitikei senior cricket competition, failed dismally in the opening match of the season and was beaten by Hunterville by an innings and 124 runs. Porewa faced an uphill task in the second innings, requiring 194 runs to avert an innings defeat. The side, however, was dismissed for 70. N. Hams was top scorer with 18. At one stage Porewa had six wickets down tor 31, but Williams and J. Shand added 33 for the seventh wicket. Porewa, batting' one short, were all out for 70. J. Duncan and H. Some good shooting was seen and “possibles” were numerous, not less than eight sharing the two open shoots by returning “possibles” of 20 birds. , Mr. G. Lampp, the president, at the close of the day’s sport, thanked competitors and others who had assisted to make the occasion a success. Trophies were presented to the winners by the mayor, Mr. T. E.
