CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night (PA) —The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club held the first day of its . Centennial Cup meeting at Addington today in fine weather. There was a large attendance to witness the resumption of midweek trotting on a fast track. When Dictation, won the . Sockburn Sprint, for trotters under free-for-all conditions, he created a New Zealand record for his gait of! 2.28 3-5 for one mile and a-quarter. The totalisator put through £211,977 (a record), including £15,278 on the double, the winning combination of which, Awadale and Parawa Derby, returned £3l 12s 6d for £l.
