REV. KEAY AND MRS. KEAY FAREWELLED AT ALL SAINTS’, W.E.

Acknowledgment of the valued wotrk carried out by the Rev. F. A. Keay and Mrs Keay during their stay of two and a-half years in charge of All Saints, Wanganui East, was paid last night by various speakers when they were farewelled bv parishioners prior to their departure for Melbourne, where Mr Keay has accepted an appointment on the staff of the Melbourne Grammar School. They leave next week. He is being replaced by the Rev. P. A. Stanley, of Eastbourne, who will take un residence as the new vicar early In the New Year Mr A. W. Jones presided o'er an attendance which fullv taxed the accommodation of the hall. The Rev. J. R. L. Higgs, vicar of Christ Church, said he was greatly indebted to Mr Keav for his valued ro-oneration during his term in charge of All Saints. He said Mr and Mrs Keav had greatly stimulated parish activities. and the church, under his guidance, had progressed remarkably in all its activities. He wished Mr and Mrs Keay every success for the speakers were: Mr N. Giddings (Sunday School), Mrs J. Harper (Kindergarten), Mrs W. Webb (Ladies’ Guild). Mrs Shanks (Mothers’ Union). Mr J. Ford (choir). Mr L. Worthington (Youne People’s Club). Miss M. Bradley (Bible Class), Mr Muller (nar’shinners ’’ warden). Rev. W. J. Couling (Ministers’ Association). Mr E. R. Hodge (C.E.M.S.), Mr A. W. Jones (vicar’s warden). For the parishioners Mr Jones presented Mr Keay with an envelope and Mrs Keav was presented with a bouquet bv Dianne Simmonds, and a bouquet was also presented to Mrs Keay’s young daughter. For th n Mothers’ Union. Mrs Shanks presented Mrs Keav with a signed autogranh hook containing the signatures nf members. Expressing his thanks to the many sneakers, Mr Keay said he and Mrs Keav and made many friends while in Wanganui East, and thev would take away with them man’- happy memories.
