Hall) has again refused to certify the agreement between the Victorian Railways Commissioners and the Australian Railways Union on the ground that it is prejudicial Io public interest. The decision meant that the Victorian rail strike, which has been in progress for ovei a fortnight. will continue and may extend to other States. Alter hearing the renewed application by the Victorian Railways Commissioners Io ratify the agreement providing payment to guards for passive time and overtime after eight hours" duty. Mr Hall said: “The existence of such an agreement must affect matters In other States.
