CONTRACT SIGNED FOR TRAM TRACK REMOVAL

“I am pleased to be able to tell you that a contract was signed just today for the removal of the tram tracks in Wanganui,” said Mr R. E. Jack, Deputy-Mayor and chairman o» the City Council’s Transport Committee, in the Opera House last night. Mr Jack, who is again standing as a Citizens’ Association candidate for the council, added that with the removal of the tram tracks he was confident that the city would see an improvement in the condition of the city’s streets which had never been seen before. The contractor is Mr W. L>. Fantham.
