WAVERLEY NOTES
Women’s Softball Club WAVERLEY, Last Night (OC) ihe inaugural meeting of the Women s Softball Club was held last Thursday evening. Mr S. Yoeman presided over a good attendance. Among those present were Messrs R’chdole and Hopper, executive members of the Wanganui Softball Association, who were able to give useful adtice and state the necessary requirements of the Softball Club. It was decided that the necessary equipment be purchased from the Chilco team, of Wanganui. The funds tl coyer the initial expense would be raised by organising a series of dances. The team has to travel to Wanganui to compete and, though it was decided to arrange an alternative conveyance, the team would travel by bus in the meantime. The team has been practising already and the keen support it is getting from the many members indicates quite a strong team. The election of officers resulted in the following being elected: Patron, Mr M. P. Bremer; president, Miss S. Dallison; vice-presidents, Messrs R. Hillmer, S. Yoeman, E. C. Dallison, E. Harrison and D. Mills; secretary, Miss S. Cunningham; treasurer, Miss A. Carroll.
