ACTION TAKEN BY AUCKLAND BOARD

AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA). Some consumers of electricity have been disconnected by the Auckland Electric Power Board and others will be disconnected in the near future unless they reduce their power consumption. This was announced by the chairman of the board (Mr C. J.' Lovegrove) at a meeting of the board. He emphasised the seriousness of the present power position, and said that further efforts to save units must be made. Unless savings were made, it was possible that areas would be cut off from electricity supplies for periods.
