No Change In The North Island Power Situation

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— Although there was warmer weather in the North Island last week, power consumption continued at a high level, and there has been no change in the supply situation. This information was contained in the weekly review by the general manager of the State Hydro-Electric Department (Mr A. E. Davenport) today. Mr. Davenport said there had been no change in the level of Lake Taupo, and a slight fall in the level -of Waikaremoana. There was very little rain in the lake areas during the week and, up to this evening, the rainfall at Taupo was only light.
